Move a page without losing visitors
Renaming or relocating a page is safe in BODOS: the old address keeps working automatically. Here is how to move a page with confidence, and how to manage the redirects yourself.
Tip: Keep redirects in place for any page that existed for a long time. Old flyers, chat messages and bookmarks keep working, and nobody meets a dead end.
Change the address
In the editor, change the page’s address to the new one. BODOS immediately creates a permanent redirect from the old address, so existing links do not break.
Test the old address
Visit the old address in your browser and confirm it lands on the new page rather than an error. This thirty-second check saves real customers later.
Update your own links
Update your own links: the menu, buttons and text that still point to the old address. Visitors should arrive directly, not take the detour.
Review the Redirects card
On your website’s page, open the Redirects card to see and manage every redirect your site uses. Remove only the ones you are certain nothing points to anymore.
Run the link checker
Finish with Check my links to catch any old address hiding anywhere on your site — in text, in buttons, or on a page you forgot about.
